Setup

Pairs — 1 offensive, 1 defensive — in the paint. Coach shoots from various spots.

Instructions

  1. On the shot, defender finds their player and boxes out.
  2. Offensive player tries to get the rebound.
  3. Whoever gets the rebound wins the rep.
  4. If defender boxes out successfully for 3 seconds = defender wins even without rebound.

Coaching Points

✓ Find your player first, then find the ball.
✓ Rear contact — sit into them, not beside.
✓ Stay with the box-out until ball is secured.

Progressions

→ 2v2 box-out.
→ Offensive player can spin or swim move.
→ Live game — if offense gets rebound they score; defence resets.
