Setup

Post player on the block. Feeder at elbow. Passive defender behind.

Instructions

  1. Feeder enters ball to the post.
  2. Post feels the defender's position with their back.
  3. Drop step baseline: pivot, power step, finish.
  4. Hook shot: seal, pivot, hook over the top. 5 reps each side.

Coaching Points

✓ Two hands catch — wide base to absorb contact.
✓ Drop step foot is a wide, decisive step.
✓ Hook arm stays extended all the way to the basket.

Progressions

→ Active defender.
→ Post creates their own shot.
→ Combo: drop step then kick out if denied.
