Triple Threat Position Drill
Players develop the triple threat stance and learn to use all three options decisively.
Setup
Players spread on the perimeter, each with a ball. Coach gives commands.
Instructions
- Receive pass — immediately assume triple threat.
- Coach calls: Drive, Shoot, or Pass.
- Execute the called option with maximum commitment.
- Rotate through all three options 5 times each.
Coaching Points
✓ Triple threat: knees bent, ball protected, eyes up.
✓ Jab step before the drive — sell it.
✓ Shot pocket under the ball — not behind.
Progressions
→ Add a passive defender — player reads and reacts.
→ Call comes after the jab step.
→ Live 1v1 — no call, player decides.
